The Taste of Vail and the Lamb Cook-Off

We attended a spectacular event in Vail last Thursday – the Lamb Cook-off which is a part of the Taste of Vail.  It was held in Vail Village.  Tasty lamb treats were offered by local restaurants as well as wine tastings from all over the US.  The lamb dishes were absolutely delicious and the wine was excellent.  It was an all-around special event.  2013-04-04 17.03.33If you missed it, make plans to attend next year.  2013-04-04 17.13.412013-04-04 17.12.152013-04-04 17.07.21

The Prudential Beaver Creek Lodge Office Visits Zach’s in Bachelor Gulch

On Friday the real estate brokers in the Beaver Creek Lodge office were hosted at Zach’s restaurant in Bachelor Gulch.  The occasion was to learn more about Vail Resorts Signature Clubs in the Vail Valley.  The Signature Clubs include the Vail Mountain Club, Arrabelle Club, Game Creek Club, Passport Club (all in Vail, Colorado) and the Beaver Creek Club, Bachelor Gulch Club, and Arrowhead Club (all in Beaver Creek, Colorado).  Red Sky Ranch Golf Club is also part of the Signature Clubs.

In addition to a fabulous lunch, Tinsley Buffington, part of the Signature Clubs sales team, gave a detailed and interesting presentation on the Clubs.  There really is a club for everyone in the Vail Valley.  These clubs are a great way to quickly integrate new homeowners into the community.  They offer not only great facilities, but all have many activities to choose from.

I have skied with the Bachelor Gulch Men’s Club and they are a fun group of guys.  We have even accomplished the Talon’s Challenge as a group.

So it was a fun and educational day.  See our group below with Zach’s in the background.

A Dining Recommendation in Santa Fe

This is slightly out of the Vail Valley but Kim and I recently travelled to Santa Fe for a long, restful weekend.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but in particular, enjoyed eating at Galisteo Bistro.  I highly recommend this restaurant.  It is just off the historic square.  It is a small, intimate space.  The owner/chef takes personal interest in all his guests.  He seats you and checks on you while you are dining to ensure everything is to his high standards.  The food was excellent.  I thought the spices made the entrees special.  What I really liked was that the prices were reasonable and the wine list had several tasty, affordable wines.  The staff was very attentive without being intrusive.  I would return the next time we are in Santa Fe.
